Nonlinear features and energy transfer in an Acoustic Black Hole beam through intentional electromechanical coupling

چکیده
Acoustic Black Hole (ABH) phenomenon features unique wave retarding and energy focusing of flexural waves inside thin-walled structures whose thickness follows a power-law variation. Existing studies, mostly on linear aspects, show the deficiency ABH in coping with low-frequency problems, typically below so-called cut-on frequency. In this paper, electrical nonlinearities are intentionally imposed via PZT patches over an beam to tactically influence its dynamics through electromechanical coupling. Using fully coupled model, typical coupling phenomena between external nonlinear circuits, as well resultant salient system, numerically investigated. Results beneficial effects arising from intentional nonlinearity terms generating transfer low high frequencies beam, before being dissipated by covered small amount damping materials. As such, effective frequency range is broadened, conducive vibration control problems. Meanwhile, different existing mechanical means, introduced allows for flexible tuning accommodate specific ranges applications.

Modal Overlap Factor of a beam with an acoustic black hole termination
Acoustic Black Hole (ABH) effect is a passive vibration reduction technique which takes advantage of properties of wave propagation in thin structures of varying thickness. A practical implementation of ABH on a uniform beam consists in an extremity whose thickness follows a power-law profile covered by a very thin layer of additional damping material. A modal analysis based on a High Resolutio...
متن کاملBlack Hole Interaction Energy
The interaction energy between two black holes at large separation distance is calculated. The first term in the expansion corresponds to the Newtonian interaction between the masses. The second term corresponds to the spin-spin interaction. The calculation is based on the interaction energy defined on the two black holes initial data. No test particle approximation is used. The relation betwee...
متن کاملHawking radiation and energy conservation in an evaporating black hole.
We define the Bondi energy for two-dimensional dilatonic gravity theories by generalizing the known expression of the ADM energy. We show that our definition of the Bondi energy is exactly the ADM energy minus the radiation energy at null infinity. An explicit calculation is done for the evaporating black hole in the RST model with the Strominger’s ghost decoupling term. It is shown that the in...
متن کاملJet disc coupling in black hole binaries
In the last decade multi-wavelength observations have demonstrated the importance of jets in the energy output of accreting black hole binaries. The observed correlations between the presence of a jet and the state of the accretion flow provide important information on the coupling between accretion and ejection processes. After a brief review of the properties of black hole binaries, I illustr...
متن کاملExtracting Energy from Black Hole through Transition Region
A new scenario for extracting energy from a Kerr black hole is proposed. With magnetic field lines connecting plasma particles inside the ergosphere with remote loads, the frame dragging twists the field lines so that energy and angular momentum are extracted from the plasma particles. If the magnetic field is strong enough, the energy extracted from the particles can be so large that the parti...
